職業外科医の財前五郎と優しい医師の里見修二の対照的な物語を描いた山崎豊子の同名小説を原作としたこの漫画は、舞台を昭和から現代に移します。An adaptation of Yamasaki Toyoko's eponymous novel that chronicles the contrasting stories of career surgeon Zaizen Gorou and friendly doctor Satomi Shuuji, the manga moves the setting from Shouwa era to the modern day.
